We recently had the opportunity to supply some reclaimed white oak timbers for a Midwest construction firm. Sourced out
of a Pennsylvania bank barn, these sleeper beams were just the ticket. Sleepers tend to be pocket free and yields the cleanest look out of reclaimed material.
The process was lengthy with each piece needing to be sized, de-nailed, and trimmed for rot. Once that was completed, they were sent to the mill to be cut to size (4×10 & 6×8). Lastly, they all received a bora-care spray treatment to be ready for their final destination. As illustrated by the pictures, the payoff was worth it! E.K. West Ventures offers both reclaimed and new white oak resawn timbers.
Project was designed by CBID Interiors + Design.
