Hand-Hewn & Rough Sawn Timbers

Wood beams are an excellent way to add natural texture to your living space. We offer both reclaimed hardwood and natural white oak. The white oak is naturally aged, air dried and structurally rated to meet engineering demands. White oak timbers are the ultimate building component, both structurally and aesthetically.

In addition to white oak, we have hemlock timbers that are a great soft wood timber option. These beams weather gracefully and are very rot & bug resistant. Hemlock is a very stable timber that resists warping / twisting. Stronger and harder than pine, these can be used in high strength applications.

Douglas Fir

Douglas fir timbers are prized for their exceptional combination of strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal, making them a top choice in both structural and architectural applications. Known for their high strength-to-weight ratio, these timbers offer excellent load-bearing capacity, which is ideal for beams, trusses, and framing in residential and commercial construction. The wood’s straight grain and uniform texture also make it easy to machine, glue, and finish, resulting in clean lines and a warm, natural look. In addition to its structural integrity, Douglas fir has good dimensional stability and resistance to warping, which ensures longevity and reliability over time. Its rich reddish-brown hues and pronounced grain pattern add a timeless, rustic elegance, making Douglas fir not only a practical but also an aesthetically versatile choice for exposed timber work and fine craftsmanship.

Eastern Hemlock

Hemlock timbers are known for their combination of strength, stability, and versatility, making them a popular choice in both structural and decorative applications. The wood features a fine, even grain with a light, creamy color that accepts stains and finishes beautifully, allowing for a range of design styles. Hemlock is relatively lightweight yet strong, with excellent workability for machining, gluing, and painting. It also resists splitting and holds nails and screws securely, making it ideal for framing, paneling, and trim work. Its balance of practicality and aesthetic appeal makes hemlock a dependable, affordable, and visually pleasing timber option.
